A Veteran's Day Swing Dance to benefit the USO and B&O Railroad Museum Education Programs will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 7:30-11 p.m., at the B&O Railroad Museum (901 West Pratt St.). The event is being held in conjunction with the museum's Veteran's Weekend (Nov. 7-8) and will let visitors dress up in 1940s clothes and dance to old time music by Dale Corn & Orchestra. Wine fundraiser

The MidAtlantic Cardiovascular Foundation is hosting its fifth annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction Fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 7, 2-5 p.m., at Linwood's Restaurant (25 Crossroads Drive, Owings Mills). The event will feature samplings of fine wines by Wine Docs, a silent auction and music. Proceeds will benefit programs and initiatives that promote advances in the treatment of cardiovascular care. All about Da Vinci

Dr. Jonathan Pevsner, will give a lecture, Leonardo da Vinci's Science, Technology and Art Thursday, Nov. 5, 7:30 pm, at the Maryland Science Center (601 Light St.). The talk is being presented in conjunction with the Maryland Science Center's exhibit "Da Vinci - The Genius" and will chronicle the life of the man whose ideas and life's work has influenced generations of people. Autism and animals

Colorado State University associate professor of animal science Dr. Temple Grandin will speak on how Animals Make Us Human Tuesday, Nov. 10, 7-9 p.m., at the National Aquarium. Grandin is considered one of the most accomplished and well-known adults with autism in the world and will share her perspective on the connection between animals and humans. Hear Steve Forbes

Steve Forbes, the Chairman and CEO of Forbes Media and editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine, will address the Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs Tuesday, Nov. 10, 6 p.m., at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located at 300 Light St. Forbes will deliver an address titled: Whither the Economy -- and the Idea of Entrepreneurial Capitalism? Science for kids

The Maryland Science Center's Kids Room is offering an Imagination Creation Exploration activity Fridays, Nov. 6 and 13, 3 p.m., at its home base at 601 Light St. The activity will teach children ages 5-9 about optics and light through the use of prisms and mirrors. Healthy Saturday

Port Discovery will hold a Healthy First Saturday event Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at 35 Market Place, Baltimore City).
