Taste of Poland
The Polish Community Association of Maryland will host the 36th annual Polish Festival Friday-Sunday May 29-31, at Patterson Park's Pulaski Monument (at Eastern and Linwood avenues). On the bill will be local, regional and national entertainment by polka bands, ethnic food, and such Polish crafts as hand-made dolls and afghans. Wine al fresco
The Howard County Conservancy non-profit environment education center and land trust will host a Wine in the Garden event on Thursday, May 28, 5-8 p.m., at 10520 Old Frederick Road in Woodstock. Blues in Hagerstown
The Western Maryland Blues Fest takes place Thursday-Sunday, May 28-31, in downtown Hagerstown. Featured artists include the Derek Trucks Band, Ronnie Ray, Bad Influence, Roomful of Blues and Jimmy Thackery of the Nighthawks. Hours are Thursday 5-6:30 p.m., Friday 4-10 p.m., Saturday 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday noon-5 p.m. Adult tickets run $20-$50; children's tickets run $7. Strawberries in Sykesville
The Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church will host its annual Sykesville Strawberry Festival Saturday, May 30, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at 5600 Old Washington Road. The event, now in its 19th year, will feature games, pony rides, entertainment, a silent auction, food, craft and antique vendors, and strawberry shortcake. Proceeds benefit local charities. Annapolis goes Greek
The Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church will host its Annual Greek Festival Friday-Sunday, May 29-31, at 2747 Riva Road in Annapolis. More storytelling
The Stoop Storytelling monologue series returns Monday, June 1, 8 p.m., at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson (3134 Eastern Ave.). The new edition will be called "Good Sports: Winning, Losing and Everything in Between" and will be preceded by a 7 p.m. cocktail hour with music by local favorites Caleb Stine and the Brakemen. See the yachts
The Yacht Show at the National Harbor will take place Friday-Sunday, May 29-31, at 137 National Plaza in National Harbor, MD. The show will feature yachts and boat-related productions from dozens of national companies.
