On June 28, 2008, Ernest and Jeri Mullinix celebrated their golden anniversary with a party for family and friends at the Charlestown retirement community, where they have resided for 10 years.

They wed in West Baltimore United Methodist Church on this date in 1958.

An alumnus of the University of Maryland, College Park, Mr. Mullinix worked at the Westinghouse Defense Center for 40 years.

His wife grew up in the Cumberland area.

Besides belonging to the XYZ (Extra Years of Zest) Club at Catonsville United Methodist Church, she participates in many Charlestown activities, such as hosting programs on Channel 66, the in-house television station; creating ceramics in Renaissance Gardens; exercise classes and working puzzles with a women's group.

The couple raised three children, Glenn Mullinix with Sherri, of Ellicott City; Joyce Mullinix, of San Diego, and Pam Fair with Wes, of Stow, Ohio.

Gabrielle, Case, Parker and Madison Mullinix, and David, Christopher and Lauren Fair are their grandchildren.
