Donna Leister, administrator at Futurecare Cherrywood, received her Ph.D in organization and management from the School of Business and Technology at Capella University in Minneapolis, Minn. Leister's dissertation, "The Vanishing Nursing Home Administrator: Stress and Intent to Leave," consisted of research on long-term care, and the results were presented at the Health Facilities Association of Maryland Convention in Ocean City on Sept. 30.
Marcia Roseman was selected the 2009 Health Facilities Association of Maryland's Department Head of the Year. Roseman has been the director of rehabilitation services at Reisterstown's FutureCare Cherrywood for eight years. She has more than 31 years of experience as a speech language pathologist in acute care hospitals, acute rehabilitation hospitals, private practice and skilled nursing facilities.
Team Maryland of Seasons Hospice announced the appointment of Dr. Gary Applebaum to executive director of the three Seasons Hospice locations in Maryland. Applebaum joined Seasons earlier this year and has worked to incorporate innovative ideas in patient care with his in-home visits and other programs. Applebaum is a board certified internist and geriatrician who trained at the Johns Hopkins University.

Benjamin Halpern graduated from the Army ROTC Leader's Training Course at Fort Knox, Ky. The four-week course is a leadership internship for cadets that can lead to the ultimate goal of becoming an Army officer. The cadet is a student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He is the son of Ann Halpern, of Pikesville and a 2007 graduate of Pikesville High School.
Jessica Klinefelter was promoted to the position of vice president at A.D.
