William "Lynnie" Cook will be the new chief executive of the Baltimore County Revenue Authority. Cook will oversee the three main divisions of the authority, including the county's parking system of garages and meters, the Reisterstown Sportsplex at Reisterstown Regional Park and Baltimore County Golf. Cook will replace George Hale, who is retiring this summer.

Brian Hug, of Perry Hall, was named Employee of the Year at the Maryland Department of the Environment's annual service and incentive awards ceremony May 6. Hug was recognized for his effort in improving air quality plans for the Washington, Baltimore and Hagerstown areas.

Teachers Darrell Wheeler, of Perry Hall High School, Marissa Spears of Perry Hall Middle School, Stewart Emmerich, of Vincent Farm Elementary School, Barbara MacFarlane, of Harford Hills Elementary School, and Amy DeNike, of Kingsville Elementary School, were recognized by Baltimore County Public Schools at its annual Awards for Excellence in Education May 11 at Martin's West.

Anita Smallin, is the new Youth and Family Ministry coordinator for Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Carney. She will be working to further develop youth programming.
