The Community Crisis Center in Reisterstown is in urgent need of donated food or toiletries or money to help the growing numbers of local residents who are recently unemployed.
“Many of the families we’ve been seeing during recent months have never experienced this degree of financial hardship,” said Deborah Goff, executive director of the center.
The center needs the following items: nonperishable food items, toiletries, school supplies, career clothing and money. Monetary donations could help pay for utilities, rent or house payments for residents who might otherwise be evicted. Volunteers are needed, as well.
Food and toiletry donations may be dropped off at the center, 725 Main St., on Mondays, from 5 to 7 p.m. or on Tuesdays through Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Monetary donations can be mailed to Community Crisis Center, Inc., P.O. Box 56, Glyndon, MD 21071.
