According to the Catonsville Celebrations Committee, Fourth of July events in town will follow this schedule:

* 9:30 a.m.: Children's games and races

Location: Catonsville High School campus at Rolling and Valley roads.

Description: Decorated bike contest, lollipop scramble, quarter hunt, ball on spoon race, shoe scramble, leapfrog, wheelbarrow and sack races, water balloon toss.

Boys and girls events will be divided into four age groups: ages 2 and 3; ages 4-6; ages 7-9; and ages 10-13.

Prizes will be awarded to the events' winners.

Sponsored by the Catonsville Men's Civic Association, Catonsville Recreation and Parks and the Association of Government Accountants.

* 11:00 a.m. : American Music Concert

Location: Christian Temple, 5820 Edmondson Ave. at Academy Road

Description: Free concert open to the public.

* 1:30 p.m.: Catonsville Hot Dog Eating Contest

Location: Duesenberg's, An American Cafe and Grill, 10 Mellor Ave.

Description: Twenty contestants will compete for the title of "Catonsville Biggest Wiener."

* 3:00 p.m.: 63rd Annual Grand Parade

Location: Starts at Frederick Road and Montrose Avenue. Proceeds east on Frederick Road to Bloomsbury Avenue, then south on Bloomsbury Avenue to the Bloomsbury Community Center.

Description: Annual parade, to be held rain or shine.

* 6:30 p.m.: Pre-fireworks musical salute

Location: Catonsville High School

Description: Music by the Reality Jones Band.

* 9:15 p.m.: Fireworks display

Location: Catonsville High School. Rain date July 5.
