For the fourth year in a row, St. Agnes Hospital is hosting a free running clinic for area residents.

Both amateur and experienced runners are invited to the event, in the hospital's Alagia Auditorium from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 8.

The event will feature physicians, athletes and Ian Roberts, who ran track for Coppin State University and competed for Guyana in the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, giving advice on a variety of topics, including proper exercise techniques and nutrition and the best ways to prevent injuries.

Advice will also be given on ways to improve running technique, and consultations will be given to individuals to help them identify the best type of running shoes for them.

The event will include a general health and wellness fair, as well as giveaways, snacks and door prizes.

The event is free but those planning on attending must register by calling 866-690-9355.
