Photographs taken along the Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail as it makes its way from Ashland to Freeland will be on display in Monkton Oct. 15 to Oct. 19.

Diddywopps and Keeffers Fine Arts and Crafts Gallery will host Gunpowder Falls State Park's annual photo contest.

Photos depicting the sights along the trail were submitted last week. The contest winner will be decided by Monkton artist Joanne Bare, who heads up the art department at Hereford High School and photographer David Simpson, of Monkton, who has just published a 100-page book, "Loch Raven," which captures the local reservoir through the seasons.

A free reception at the Monkton gallery is Saturday, Oct. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m., and many of the photographers will be present. The photographs are for sale and proceeds will be split between the photographer and the Northern Baltimore County Art Foundation, which promotes the arts in North County and funds scholarships for worthy North County students.

Diddywopps and Keeffers is at 1901 Monkton Road. Call 410-472-0470.
