Celebrate the season and get some early holiday shopping done at the Gift and Sweets Bazaar at Timonium United Methodist Church, 2300 Pot Spring Road, Nov. 14, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The bazaar will include a variety of vendors with great gift ideas, flea market treasures, freshly made buns, cookies and pies, along with homemade soup and sandwiches for lunch.

Boy Scout Troop 328, based at Timonium United Methodist Church reported a busy summer, including two weeks of camping. The first was a Seabase High Adventure trip to the Florida Keys. Twelve Scouts and six leaders had a great time kayaking, snorkeling and camping on an uninhabited island.

The second camping experience was at Camp Ockanickon in Pipersville, Pa., as 18 Scouts attended and the group earned a total of 60 merit badges.

In addition, Life Scout William Hardisky was elected to the Order of the Arrow and completed the requisites in August. In September, the troop hit the ground running with a camping trip and an Eagle Scout ceremony. Fourteen Scouts and four leaders camped at Calvert Cliffs State Park, working on scouting skills. They also enjoyed a little fossil hunting.

On Sept. 26, the Troop celebrated an Eagle Scout ceremony for Tyler Goehringer at Timonuim Methodist Church. Tyler's project involved removing invasive species of grasses from an area at Hampton Mansion. Congratulations Tyler.

Troop members have kicked off their annual citrus fruit sale. All orders are due by Dec. 7, and delivery will be Dec. 19. To place an order go to citrus@bsa-troop328.org or telephone 410-252-0983. The troop's second citrus sale for honey bells, a hybrid of tangerine and grapefruit, will begin Jan. 10.

Nathan Mason, a fifth-grader at Padonia International School, was named October's Student of the Month by the Timonium Optimist Club. Nathan has been a member of the Community Club since first grade and received the Principal's Award from kindergarten through grade four.

A runner up in the school spelling bee (third grade), he advanced to the Baltimore Bee at Towson University.

He's been a school safety and earned As in all academic subjects in the fourth grade. Outside school, he makes sandwiches for Our Daily Bread, attends Vacation Bible School and helps prepare casseroles for the Beans and Bread Soup Kitchen.

Nathan also participated in a Loch Raven Reservoir cleanup and helps neighbors with snow removal and trash. In addition, he's played on the Cockeysville Rec Council in soccer, basketball and baseball. He's also a member of the Summer Hill Swim Team.
