The Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands Senior Center, 424 Third Ave., offers a Halloween masquerade bash noon-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.

Dress in your most original, funniest or scariest costume.

Prize winners merit a free lunch of ham, salad bar and desserts, followed by ghostly entertainment.

Others pay $7 per person.

Lansdowne Middle School presents "Rumplestiltskin" Thursday, Nov. 20, and Friday, Nov. 21, with tickets costing $3. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The curtain goes up at 7 p.m.

Sarah Bosworth directs Alexis Lemon as Rumplestiltskin and Christopher Bunn, music instructor, as the trumpeter.

The Baltimore Highlands Elementary School PTA is sponsoring the second annual Pamela Burke Walk-a-thon Saturday, Nov. 1, on the track at Lansdowne High School.

The event honors the school's longtime reading specialist, who died three years ago. Proceeds will be designated for breast cancer research.

Del. Jim Malone will lead this fundraiser, beginning at 10 a.m.

The English Consul Volunteer Fire Department, 2827 Michigan Ave., invites the community to join the fun of a karaoke night 8 p.m.-midnight, Saturday, Nov. 1, for $20 a person. Besides singing and dancing, food, beer and sodas will be available.

Lansdowne United Methodist Church, 114 Lavern Ave., will serve its annual roast pork supper 3:30-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.

Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-12.

Mashed potatoes, gravy, sauerkraut, green beans, applesauce, pickled beets, biscuits, desserts and beverages will be on the menu. Homemade candies and baked treats will be sold separately.

The next Friday family fun night is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Christ United Methodist Church.

Dinner will be offered for a free will offering.

The church is also collecting canned food to fill Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.

American Legion Post 195 will host its annual bull and oyster roast 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, in the hall, 2603 Virginia Ave.

Clyde Allen and Cruise will provide music.

The $40 tickets include pit ham, oyster stew, mashed potatoes, vegetables, beer, sodas and a limited open bar.
