Jamari Braddy, a senior at Dulaney High School, has been selected to be a member of the 2008 Macy's Great American Marching Band. With this honor, Jamari will march at the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. He has marched with the Dulaney Marching Lions since his freshman year and now leads the percussion section (drum lines).

Asked how he was chosen, Jamari said, "My mom always watches the parade on TV, and I usually watch to check out the different bands and their drum lines. When the Macy's band came on there was a blurb about how band members came from different states, so I went online and found the application information."

With a little help from John Grube, co-president of the band boosters, Jamari was able to make an audition DVD and send it in to Macy's. This Thanksgiving, Jamari will travel to New York, where he will meet the rest of the band and attend leadership training sessions. Other activities will include tours of NYC's attractions, such as the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center.
