The University of Maryland, Baltimore County Symphony presents a free performance of classical works 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the UMBC Fine Arts Recital Hall.

The performance, highlighted by Beethoven's "Symphony No. 7 in A Major," will also include Bizet's "Carmen," Ravel's "Mother Goose Suite" and "Finlandia" by Sibelius.

For 35 years, the UMBC Symphony has embraced musicians who are neighbors and alumni as well as students.

"Our student musicians benefit from the experience of working with a diverse group from the community, with everyone coming together to achieve something," said conductor E. Michael Richards, chairman of the UMBC music department.
