Arbutus resident Christina Spliedt was among six Baltimore area Girl Scouts recognized for their cookie sales skills during the Nov. 13 Green Carpet Event, hosted by the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland (GSCM) at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel.

The event recognized the top pre-order cookie sellers from Baltimore and the five surrounding counties for their efforts during the first phase of the three-month Cookie Sale program.

Spliedt, a member of Girl Scout Troop 496, sold 794 boxes to claim the title of best in Baltimore County.

That total exceeded the top sellers in Anne Arundel (757), Carroll (450) and Harford (618) counties and was only exceeded by the top sellers in Baltimore (856) and Howard County (817).

The evening focused on girl entrepreneurship and ingenuity as the Cookie Sale program activity provides girls with business basics of goal setting, team building, money management and customer service.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to recognize girls who may very well be tomorrow's women business leaders," said Traci Barnett, Girl Scouts of Central Maryland CEO.
