The Overlea-Fullerton Senior Center recently played host to a family of raccoons. Director Patti McDonnell entered the center Nov. 24 to find a creative mess in the ceramics room and a raccoon asleep in a flower pot in the multipurpose room.

The raccoon, affectionately named Rambo, due to his destructiveness, was captured by animal control and taken away. Rambo made his entrance into the center by way of the roof and then fell through a ceiling tile.

One month later, another ceiling tile was down, but no sign of a raccoon. Traps were set in the ceiling and Little Ricky was caught, followed by Roxanne, who managed to take out the center's public address system by getting tangled in the wires and chewing them off.

Thanks to Baltimore County Building Services, Animal Control and the Baltimore County Department of Aging Facilities office, the raccoon problem was solved and life is back to normal at the center.
