Nick Turner, of Hereford High School, is a semifinalist in the 55th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. He will be honored by Superintendent of Baltimore County Schools Joe A. Hairston and the Baltimore County Board of Education in May 2010.
The following students earned a dean's academic scholarship at York College of Pennsylvania: David Fouts, of Freeland; Timothy Findle, of White Hall; and Christopher Likes, of Monkton.
The following students earned a York Regional Grant at York College of Pennsylvania: James Elliott, of Jarrettsville; Amber Hatton, of Freeland; Tyler Slater, of Sparks; William Moyer, of Freeland; Kyle Yoder, of Parkton; and Alexander Berry, of Parkton.
Ryan Handzo, of Phoenix, earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for the spring semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Merrill Brunson, of Parkton, completed his new cadet week training with the VIrginia Tech Corps of Cadets. He is a freshman majoring in general engineering in the College of Engineering.
Kate Sullivan, of White Hall, recently chaired a service project for incoming freshmen at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. The junior student was one of 15 student leaders working on 15 separate service projects in the college's Arnold Sports Center Arena.
Chelsea Gottschalk, of Phoenix, is among 750 students who entered Colgate University with the Class of 2013 in August. She is a graduate of Dulaney High School.
Ben Cranston, of Parkton, has been inducted in the National Honor Society at Loyola Blakefield, where he is a senior. He was also named to the 2009 Maryland Crab Bowl Team.
