Danny Gahagan, of Parkton, is a member of the College Choir at Gettysburg College. Gahagan is a junior.

Lauren Javins, of Phoenix, is a member of the Gettysburg College Marching Band. Javins is a sophomore.

Kirsten Smith, of Phoenix, was awarded a deans' scholarship by Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.

Hereford High School was a 2009 Good Neighbor Week Award Recipient at a ceremony in November honoring 70 individuals and organizations for their volunteer services.

Paige Botti, of Upperco, was named to the Institute for Management Studies Scholars Program at Lycoming College, in Pennsylvania. She is a senior business-marketing major.

Chelsea Landa, of Freeland, was admitted to Virginia Tech Graduate School. She is pursuing a Master of Science in biomedical and veterinary sciences from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.

Lillian Gibbons, of Timonium, graduated a semester early from American University in Washington. The 2006 Hereford High School graduate majored in political science and minored in education. Gibbons will be working at the Monarch Academy, a new charter school, in Glen Burnie.
