Gregory Franke, of Glen Arm, was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, a national honor society, at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va.
Gregory Alan Shemonski and Whitney Williams were named to the dean's list at York College of Pennsylvania in York, Pa. Shemonski, of Parkton, is studying mechanical engineering; Williams, also of Parkton, is pursuing a degree in recreation and leisure.
Allison Seyler, of Parkton, was named to the president's list at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Catonsville.
Matthew Zaegel, of Baldwin, was named to the dean's list at the University of Maryland, College Park, where he is studying economics.
Ethan Feidler, a recent graduate of Hereford High School, was awarded two scholarships, including a freshman academic scholarship, to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Okla.
Kayla Bruun, of Glen Arm, a recent graduate of the Park School in Brooklandville, placed fifth in the Most Philosophical Student in America competition with an essay responding to the question "Is global warming the greatest challenge facing humankind?"
