Alexis Nicole Blair, of Phoenix, was named to the dean’s list at Sewanee, the University of the South, in Sewanee, Tenn.
Daniel DiMayo, of Monkton, was named to the dean’s list at Frostburg State University.
Gregory Clarke Franke, of Glen Arm, earned honor roll status at Washington and Lee University, in Lexington, Va.
McKenzie Hall, of Baldwin, was named to the dean’s list of Denison University, in Granville, Ohio.
Yasmin Hormozi, of Glen Arm, has been named to the dean’s list of Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Amy Jaklitsch, of Parkton, has been named to the dean’s list of Frostburg State University. Jaklitsch was recognized for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average.
Jordan Michael Jankowski, of Sparks, was named to the dean’s list of Towson University for the fall 2008 semester. He was also elected president of Tau Kappa Epsilon for 2008-09. A 2006 graduate of Loyola Blakefield, he is a junior majoring in sports management with a minor in business.
Megan Mitchell, of Phoenix, was named to the dean’s list of DePaul University, in Chicago.
Heather Peluso, of Monkton, Andrea Miles, of Phoenix, and Sean Sheehan, of Phoenix, were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Elizabethtown College, in Elizabethtown, Pa.
Travis Grammer, an eighth-grade student at Hereford Middle School, son of James and Colleen Grammer, of Parkton, was accepted into the People-to-People Student Ambassador Program founded by former President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. In June, Grammer will travel to Japan for two weeks, potentially earning academic credit while getting to know the people, culture and history of places he visits in Japan.
The following area residents graduated from Salisbury University during its recent winter graduation ceremonies: Jennifer Garrison, of Baldwin, with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and Spanish; Bryan Babcock, of Freeland, with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and English; Matthew Trader, of Phoenix, with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy; Shannon Toomey, of Upperco, with a Bachelor of Arts in social work; Jonathan Lonsdale, of White Hall, with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and finance.
The following area residents have been named to the dean’s list of York College of Pennsylvania: Caitlyn Carr, of Parkton, a junior studying behavioral science; Hanna Krug, of Parkton, a senior majoring in marketing; Marissa Lagna, of Parkton, a freshman studying nursing; Matthew Schilling, of Parkton, a senior majoring in elementary education; Anna Schmitt, of Parkton, a sophomore; Gregory Shemonski, of Parkton, a sophomore studying mechanical engineering; Whitney Williams, of Parkton, a senior majoring in recreation; Steven Gore, of Sparks, a junior studying mechanical engineering; Kristen Frick, of White Hall, studying nursing; Brian Hare, of White Hall, a sophomore studying history; Michael Mason, of White Hall, a senior majoring in elementary education; Corinne Smerdzinski, of White Hall, a sophomore studying nursing; and Kimberly Wertz, of White Hall, a sophomore studying nursing.
