Jingwen Wang, a senior at Hereford High School, has been named 2009 Young Woman of the Year by the Baltimore County Commission for Women. This award is given annually to an outstanding young woman who has made significant contributions to her community and school. Hereford High counselor

Shawn M. Fiedler of Parkton, a junior studying political science, has been named to the dean’s list of Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. He has also been elected president of the Democratic Club.

Alison Fitchett, of White Hall, a senior majoring in humanities, has been named to the dean’s list of Messiah College in Grantham, Pa.

Sarah Goedeke, of Phoenix, a senior majoring in human development and family science, has been named to the dean’s list of Messiah College in Grantham, Pa.

Morgan Griffith, of Monkton, was named to the dean’s list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C., for the fall 2008 semester.

Ryan Handzo, of Phoenix, has been named to the dean’s list of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Maryanna Price, of Millers, has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Maryland College Park. She is a sophomore majoring in linguistics.
