The Kennedy Krieger Institute's annual Festival of Trees will once again ring in the holiday season with fairyland forests, gingerbread towns and more than 500 ornately decorated trees when it happens this year Friday-Sunday, Nov. 28-30, in the Maryland State Fairgrounds' Cow Palace in Timonium. The 18-year-old event raises money for children with disabilities. It will also feature attractions such as Wii competitions and an expanded miniature golf course. Hours are Friday-Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is $10 general; $5 for kids and seniors. Call 443-923-7300.

Belvedere Square merriment

The shops at Belvedere Square will be open late for the fourth annual Moonlight Merriment event Friday, Nov. 28, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., at the corner of York Road and Belvedere Avenue. For the occasion, many of the 20 boutique-style shops will host special holiday promotions and in-store discounts. There will also be live performances by local musicians and a visit from Santa. Paint for kids

The Baltimore Museum of Industry will hold a Finger Painting Session and Exhibit as part of its Wee Workers program Tuesday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The one-hour session is designed for children around ages 2-5.
