St. Joseph Medical Center has appointed Robert Lovell, a healthcare executive with a 30-year history of leadership, as interim chief executive officer of the 354-bed hospital while the search for a permanent CEO continues.
"Bob Lovell has a solid record of successfully leading hospitals through management transitions," said Beth O'Brien, senior vice president of St. Joseph's parent organization, Denver-based Catholic Health Initiatives.
"He knows how to work effectively with physicians and staff, is results-oriented and keeps his focus on doing what's best for patients and their families.
"He also understands our mission-based health care ministry."
Lovell, who served as interim chief operating officer at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia last year, holds a master's degree in health care administration from George Washington University and has provided executive leadership for a variety of medical centers during his career as a health care executive and consultant.
