Session set for Wednesday at Towson Library
Posted 8/18/09
Baltimore County Council Chairman Joe Bartenfelder is hosting an information community meeting this week on the proposed legislation to authorize speed cameras in Baltimore County.
The meeting will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the Towson Library, 320 York Road.
Legislation proposing speed cameras in school zones was introduced at the County Council this month, and will be the subject of a Sept. 1 work session.
A vote on the measure is expected at the council’s Sept. 8 meeting.

Anyone who attends, please question the council about why they won't hire TRAFFIC ENGINEERS to research the problem roadways and find the right solution. Ask the council why they think they are qualified to work as traffic engineers and ask them why they think they know how to make the roads safer! It's just because a camera vendor came and offered free equipment and free money. If there truly is a traffic safety problem, do it right - hire an engineer to study the problem and recommend REAL solutions.
