Baltimore County Police are looking for suspects in a vandalism incident that delayed the opening of Franklin Elementary School Thursday.
Police responded to an alarm at the school, located in the first block of Cockeys Mill Road, around 2:30 a.m. At least eight classroom windows were broken as was the glass in one door.
“They didn’t seem to take anything,” said Bill Toohey, a county police spokesman. “They just broke things.”
Once inside, the vandals tore off an alarm pad, broke an exit sign and damaged some ceiling tiles, Toohey said.
Toohey said police continue to search for the responsible party but said it could be a student.
“Generally, when young people do these things, they can’t resist bragging about it,”' Toohey said.
Toohey said anyone with information about the incident can call police at 410-307-2020.
