The thefts of two motorcycles last week from two Towson neighborhoods may be related, but Baltimore County Police can’t say for sure.

Two similar Honda motorcycles were stolen sometime between Jan. 24 and 25, according to police reports.

In the first incident, someone stole a red and white 2000 Honda CBR 900 motorcycle, Maryland registration D04339, from a home in the first block of Waterway Court between 10 p.m. Jan. 24 and 8:22 a.m. Jan. 25.

In the second incident, a black and silver Honda CBR 600 motorcycle, Maryland registration D04339, was stolen from a home in the 1100 block of Donnington Circle between 3:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Jan. 25.

Cpl. Mike Hill, a police spokesman, said it’s not known if the incidents are connected.

Hill said investigators do not have any suspect information and the circumstances of the thefts were slightly different. In once case, the motorcycle was parked in front of a house, locked up and kept under a tarp. In another, the motorcycle was chained to a fence.

“From time to time we do get someone who goes around loading these things up on a truck in one night,” Hill said, adding that so far, “There is no flurry of other motorcycle thefts in the Towson area.

“But this has certainly raised interest from our detectives, who are now watching,” Hill said. “And we hope the public will now also continue to watch for this kind of activity."

In addition to these incidents, the following items are compiled from police reports from the Towson and Cockeysville precincts. Our policy is to include descriptions when there is enough information to make identification possible.
