At 7 a.m. on the morning of July 4, it was raining in parts of Baltimore County. But by 10:30 the rain had disappeared for the start of the Towson Fourth of July Parade.

As expected, Duff Goldman, this year's grand marshal, was a big draw for area cooks who know Goldman as theĀ  "Ace of Cakes" on the Food Network's reality show of the same name.

But the reality of the July Fourth Holiday called for patriotic desserts, as plenty of Uncle Sams, bands, Scouts and community and church floats also marched in the two-hour procession.

This year's parade spotlighted the Towson areas of Ruxton, Riderwood and Lake Roland.
