County officials will co-host the 11 a.m. event and will highlight the company's county-approved plan for a $12 million, 83-unit development on 5.6 acres.
The plan calls for 65 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom units for people 62 or older.
To qualify, an individual or family must have an annual income of 60 percent or less of the Baltimore-area median income, which is now about $78,000, according to Enterprise president Chickie Grayson.
"We have started a waiting list," she said of the demand for such housing.
Rents will range from $285 to $850 a month, she said.
The project originally was proposed to have more than 100 units, but Enterprise agreed to reduce the number after some area residents objected to having such a large development in their midst.
Several members of the Westview Park Improvement and Civic Association worked with Enterprise representatives to reduce the building's size and alter its orientation so it would have less impact on its residential neighbors, according to association president Steve Whisler.
He credited Pete Doyle, Ron Lepson and several others who participated on a committee that negotiated a covenant agreement with the developer covering the project's construction hours, appearance, landscaping, lighting and other elements.
"We look forward to a good relationship with Enterprise Homes," said Doyle, who headed the committee.
Specifics of the project will include energy-efficient windows, lighting and appliances, as well as water-conserving plumbing fixtures.
The grounds will include a walking path, a boccie court and a paved patio.
Residents will have access to community, TV and activity rooms, a mailroom and a fitness room, all clustered in one wing of the first floor of the two-story, L-shaped building.
The units should be ready by June 2009, Grayson said.
The development is being financed through federal, state, county and private sources, including SunTrust Bank.
Hord Coplan Macht Inc. is the architect, and Whiting-Turner is the contractor.
