Baltimore County police have no suspects and no motive for several incidents of tire slashings that occurred along Old York Road in White Hall and Parkton last week. Cars at the Park & Ride lot and at several businesses were damaged.

Sometime between  6 p.m. Oct. 30 and 8 a.m. Oct. 31, vandals slashed 71 tires at several car businesses, including Monkton Automotive car repair and 439 Auto Sales at 20227 Old York Road in White Hall.

Steve Smith, who owns Monkton Automotive, a repair shop in White Hall since 1998, said 12 of his customers’ cars were damaged.

“It’s really starting to sink in just how many people have been disrupted by this,” he said. “Financially, it’s a disaster. We’re all incredibly angry.”

Smith said he will offer a reward for information, but hasn’t worked out the details yet.

Rick Fava, who sells used cars at 439 Auto Sales next door to Monkton Automotive, said 20 tires were slashed on nine cars he had for sale.

Five more cars had their seats slashed and turn signals were broken off three cars.

“This damage isn’t covered by insurance,” he said. “In the past, we’ve lost radios and catalytic converters, but this is the worst. People think this a nice place out here, but it’s changed in the last five years. I’d like to see whoever did this go to jail and have to pay for the damage.”

Tires were slashed on cars at the Route 439 Park & Ride lot, said a Baltimore County Police spokesman, Cpl. Mike Hill.

He said the damage was discovered the morning of Oct. 31 and most likely occurred between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Police ask anyone with information on any of the incidents to call the Cockeysville Precinct at 410-887-1820.
