White Hall resident Lisa Webber is looking for eye-witness accounts of animal sightings in North County for a book she is writing.

Her book, "Forestghost," will be a compilation of stories, photos and first-hand reports of the wildlife abundant in the area.

Webber said she plans to include detailed, factual information about each animal, so the book will be both educational and entertaining.

"I'm calling it 'Forestghost' because wildlife can hide so well in our forests, and sometimes you only catch a flash of something before it disappears into the forest again," she said. "Whether it's deer, bear, coyote, fox or cougar, I want to hear ... stories."

Webber is a former naturalist with Maryland Department of Natural Resources' Scales and Tales program. In 2001, she created an educational program, "Backyard Bears," that she presented to children and adults.

Anyone with an encounter or a story may contact Webber at BigDogg502@aol.com, or send stories to 2122 Hunter Mill Road, White Hall, MD 21161.
