Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they believe robbed the BB&T Bank on Frederick Road on June 8 and again on June 15.

Police believe the same man robbed the Fraternity Federal Savings and Loan on Washington Boulevard in Baltimore May 29.

The June 8 robbery of the BB&T Bank occurred at approximately 12:56 p.m. and the June 15 incident took place at approximately 1:12 p.m, county police said.

In both robberies, the man walked into the bank, gave a teller a note demanding money, received an undisclosed amount of cash then fled on foot, police said.

Cpl. Michael Hill, a Baltimore County Police Department spokesman, said there was “no mention of a weapon, to my knowledge,” but added the investigation is ongoing.

Similarities between the two county robberies are also present in the city incident, police said.

County police are working with city police and the FBI on the case, Hill said.

The FBI is involved because the money taken from the banks is federally insured, Hill said.

After the June 15 robbery, Frederick Road was the scene of an elaborate police presence, as various units — including a helicopter — responded to the bank at 919 Frederick Road, Hill said.

The strong police response was “not unusual” for a “hold up alarm” call, Hill said.

The bank closed after the robbery but opened again the following morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-756-2587.

A text message can also be sent to Metro Crime Stoppers at “CRIMES” (274637), with “MCS” at the start of the message.

People contacting Metro Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
