Baltimore County Police are searching for four gunmen who they say forced their way into a home on Fairmount Avenue in Towson last week and robbed three men, injuring one of them.
The incident occurred just after midnight on June 8. The three victims, who live in the house in the 900 block of Fairmount Avenue, told police they heard knocking on a back door leading to the basement, according to Cpl. Mike Hill, a police spokesman.
When the men opened the door four masked robbers forced their way inside. Three of them were armed with handguns. The fourth had a sawed-off shot gun, according to a police report.
Once inside, the gunmen forced their victims to the floor and stole wallets and other personal items. One of the victims was injured when he was hit in the head with the butt of a gun, Hill said.
He was taken to Greater Baltimore Medical Center for treatment of a cut on his head.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident, according to Hill.
Hill said he couldn’t say if the home was specifically targeted or if the incident was a random event.
